The Danish Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (DanCham) took part in a high-level networking reception on Tuesday 22 April 2025, highlighting recent progress in green collaboration between Denmark and Malaysia.

The reception, hosted by Danish Ambassador H.E. Kirstine Vangkilde Berner, showcased the Green Transition Alliance (GTA), an initiative launched by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen during his visit to Malaysia in December 2024.

The GTA brings together leading Danish companies committed to expanding green initiatives in Malaysia. Founding members introduced at the event include Blue Water Shipping, Carlsberg Group, Novo Nordisk, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, and ROCKWOOL Asia.

DanCham Chairperson Pearl Lai introduced the Chamber’s focus on advocacy, partnerships, and networking as key activities. The event gathered green thought leaders, government stakeholders, institutional investors, and business executives to explore public-private partnerships aimed at accelerating Malaysia’s sustainability goals.

Discussions centered on opportunities in renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, energy efficiency, and circular economy solutions. DanCham Board Member Dr. Kian-Ming Ong shared insights on green policy initiatives, emphasizing the need for regulatory alignment to support ambitious sustainability targets.

According to DanCham, this initiative aligns closely with Malaysia’s green aspirations while leveraging Denmark’s expertise in sustainable solutions.
