Port Clearance Issue Affecting Vessels Calling JCT

Raised to LPJ

We would like to bring to LPJ’s attention a critical issue currently impacting port clearance for vessels calling at Johor Container Terminal (JCT).

As highlighted by our member, JLM officers and support staff are unavailable between 0001 hrs and 0800 hrs, resulting in port clearance submissions after 0001 hrs being delayed

until JLM resumes operations at 0800 hrs.

This delay significantly impacts vessels with short port stays that plan to depart early in the morning, particularly as the new MMSW system no longer allows advance clearance. If unresolved, this situation may cause considerable disruptions to vessel movements and overall operational efficiency at Johor Port.

Given the urgency of this matter, we kindly request LPJ’s intervention in working alongside Johor Port and other relevant stakeholders to seek a resolution.

Your swift attention and coordination are crucial in mitigating these delays and ensuring smooth port operations.

We appreciate LPJ’s prompt response and guidance on the next steps. Should you require further details or clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Replied by LPJ as below

LPJ already brought up & registered your concerned to MMSW Project Delivery Team (PDT) lead by Port Klang Authority.  They coordinate with JLM HQ for the mechanisms to overcome the matters & LPJ will write official to JLM Southern Region.
