MIRI (May 30): Director of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Logistics and Technology Department, Dato’ Seri Sahabudin Abd Manan, led a working visit to the Ba’kelalan Police Post in Lawas on Wednesday (May 28) to review the logistics and operational preparedness of personnel stationed at the Malaysia-Indonesia border.
The delegation from Bukit Aman included senior officers SAC Zulkifli Abu Bakar, ACP Alias Mohamad, Superintendent Shahrulnizam Ahmad, and several others.
In a statement released yesterday by the Lawas Police Headquarters (IPD), the group arrived from Bario, Marudi at 10am where they were warmly welcomed at Ba’kelalan Airport by Lawas police chief DSP Liong Tindan, IPD Lawas officers, and chairman of the Police Family Association (PERKEP) Lawas.
They were then hosted for a morning reception at the Apple Lodge hall.
“The delegation continued with an inspection visit to the Ba’kelalan Police Post, located at the Ba’kelalan Immigration Control Post, where they carried out an on-site survey of the conditions of the facilities,” said the statement.
Following the inspection, the delegation proceeded to the Malaysia-Indonesia border at Ba’kelalan and Long Bawan, before moving on to the General Operations Force (PGA) Control Post in Ba’kelalan.
There, they were received by ASP Azhar Mohamad, Commander of Company ‘C’, 12th Battalion, PGA Limbang.
After completing the series of visits, the delegation returned to Ba’kelalan Airport and departed for Miri.
Liong stated that the visit by Sahabudin and his delegation was aimed at gaining firsthand insight into the logistical needs and operational challenges faced by the Ba’kelalan Police Post.
He expressed gratitude on behalf of all Lawas IPD personnel to the delegation for their support and attention during the visit.
