Livestock carrier AL BADRI 1 capsized and sank along pier at Suakin Port, Sudan, Red sea, in the evening Jun 11, while about to leave port. The ship with some 16,000 cattle on board is resting starboard on bottom, remaining partially above waterline. Overload is said to be most probable cause of capsizing, because the ship’s permissible max load is 8,000 cattle.
